Academy of Excellence identified a need for a proper rewrite centre to assist grade 12’s in repeating some of their subjects. Over the past 17 years as an independent institution, we have come to the realization that many students who write do not obtain all the subjects needed to qualify for their National Senior Certificate.
Schools do not always have the teachers available or the resources to ensure that learners that need to repeat a few subjects, get the proper education to enable them to pass. Academy of Excellence Rewrite Centre recognized the need for proper academic guidance from proper subject experts to assist these learners to reach their full potential. Learners can’t be left just to rewrite and do the studies on their own. They need proper guidance and learning facilitation from qualified Grade 12 teachers to assist them to either pass the subject or to improve their marks in the subject.
Academy of Excellence Rewrite Centre only uses qualified teachers that are either sourced from other schools and who are currently teaching the subject in Grade 12, or our own teachers who are currently teaching Grade 12 in that specific subject.
Modus operandi
Learners will be taught from 14:30 till 17:30 in the afternoons every Monday to Friday. They will have some classes on Saturdays. Every child will receive a Time Table. Teachers will focus on the difficult work and concepts not easily grasped by learners in order for them to improve their marks of the previous years. We are not only welcoming candidates in the Free State but we welcome candidates from all over the country to come and register at Academy of Excellence Rewrite Centre.

Senior Certificate
- Adult learners who are 21 years and older who have:
- a General Education and Training Certificate (GETC); or
- a Grade 9 school report (or the old standard seven), stating that they have passed Grade 9 or Standard 7; or
- recognized equivalent qualification obtained at NQF Level which requires two official languages.
- Adult learners who are 21 years and older with an incomplete Senior Certificate qualification.
- Adult learners who are 21 years and older with an incomplete National Senior Certificate.
- Only in exceptional cases, out of school youth, who are 18-21 years old and who could not complete their school education due to circumstances beyond their control, as verified by the Head of Department in the Provincial Education Department.
- Adult candidates who are 21 years and older with an incomplete NSC may choose to complete the NSC by registering in January for the year NSC examinations to be written in November, or convert to the Senior Certificate. Should the candidate choose to convert to the Senior Certificate, they may not revert to the NSC and attempt to complete the NSC qualification.
- Candidates who have obtained a matric certificate in Lesotho and want to obtain a South African matric qualification.
National Senior Certificate examination
- Current Grade 12 learners who did not reach their goal in the final examination.
- Anyone who has previously written the NSC examination and has a mark for Life Orientation may register as a part-time candidate for the NSC examinations.
- Adult candidates who are 21 years and older with an incomplete NSC may choose to complete the NSC by registering in January for the NSC examinations to be written in November, or convert to the Senior Certificate. Should the candidate choose to convert to the Senior Certificate, they may not revert to the NSC and attempt to complete the NSC qualification.
